KLIA Ekspres is the direct train between KL Sentral and both airport terminals. KLIA Transit uses the same corridor but stops at Bandar Tasik Selatan, Putrajaya & Cyberjaya and Salak Tinggi. KLIA Ekspres takes 28 minutes from KL Sentral to KLIA Terminal 1. The operator publishes another three minutes between Terminal 1 and Terminal 2. These figures cover the rail sectors only. KLIA Transit takes 39 minutes between KL Sentral and KLIA Terminal 2. It calls at three intermediate stations, so it is slower than Ekspres for a city-centre airport trip but more useful for Putrajaya, Salak Tinggi or Bandar Tasik Selatan. Grab publishes a current average journey of approximately 50 minutes from Kuala Lumpur city centre to KUL, with an average distance of 55 km. Traffic, the exact neighbourhood and the terminal change the road journey. For a hotel beyond KL Sentral, include the onward rail, taxi or walk in your plan. The airport train duration ends at the terminal station; it does not include station access, waiting, check-in or immigration time.

The standard adult KLIA Ekspres fare between KL Sentral and either airport terminal is RM55 one way or RM100 return. Children aged 6–15 pay RM25 one way or RM45 return. KLIA Ekspres runs every 20 minutes all day, every day, including weekends and national public holidays. Its main timetable lists first departures at 05:00 from KL Sentral and 04:55 from KLIA T2, and regular non-stop last departures at 00:00 from KL Sentral and KLIA T2 and 00:05 from KLIA T1. A separate late all-stations service starts at 23:00; the operator says airport service continues until 01:00. Its combined-service timetable lists a 01:00 KLIA T2 departure to KL Sentral, arriving at 01:40. Treat this as the later all-stations service, not as an extra non-stop train. KLIA Transit runs every 15 minutes during weekday peak periods and every 30 minutes during weekday off-peak periods and weekends. Its published first departure is 05:03 from KL Sentral; the last is 00:03. From KLIA T2, the first departure is 05:18 and the last 00:30. KLIA T1’s last departure is 00:34. Ticket counters are generally open 06:00–23:00, with separate arrival-hall times at each terminal. Online tickets can be bought up to six months ahead and are valid for one month from the selected travel date. A used rail ticket is valid for 90 minutes from entry to exit. Sunday is included in both published rail patterns. KLIA Ekspres states that its every-20-minute service runs every day, including weekends and public holidays. For a late arrival, compare landing, baggage and immigration time with the final train. The main KLIA Ekspres table gives the final regular non-stop departures as 00:00 from T2 and 00:05 from T1; its combined late timetable then lists a 01:00 all-stations departure from T2. The KLIA Transit page separately lists regular last departures at 00:30 from T2 and 00:34 from T1, while its 2026 service PDF also includes the late combined all-stations departure. Grab offers advance airport bookings and publishes pickup points, including International Arrivals Level 1 at Doors 1, 3 and 4. For an early Sunday flight, enter the exact pickup time and terminal in the app, then follow the assigned pickup instructions. Some flights use Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah Airport (SZB), also known as Subang SkyPark in Subang Jaya, rather than KUL. Check your airport code before choosing a transfer: the two airports have different rail and road connections. The airport’s transport page lists buses and taxis, but its U81 bus number and RM2 fare should not be treated as confirmed current MyRapid information.
