Manila Airport Transfers: Bus, MRT and Taxi

Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA, MNL) is Manila’s principal airport. Its passenger terminals are across Pasay and Parañaque; check the assigned terminal on the airport’s live flight board and with your airline before arranging pickup. The airport operator lists coupon, yellow-metered and regular metered taxis, Grab, UBE Express, Genesis point-to-point buses, the Airport Loop Shuttle Bus and an inter-terminal shuttle. For most hotels in Manila, Makati, Pasay and Bonifacio Global City, use NAIA and choose a direct car, airport taxi or bus connection. Clark International Airport (CRK) is the alternative gateway, approximately 80 kilometres northwest of Manila in the Clark Freeport and Special Economic Zone. Clark serves Angeles, Central Luzon and northern routes as well as Metro Manila. Its airport operator lists Genesis and Victory Liner point-to-point buses, the Clark Loop, Grab and Blue Taxi. Choose CRK when your flight is there, your destination is north of Manila, or the available fare and schedule suit you better. Grab publishes an approximate 40-minute journey from Manila city centre to NAIA, an approximate distance of 10 kilometres and an average price of PHP 300–500. These are Grab’s city-centre averages, not a promise for a particular terminal, hotel district or traffic condition. The app shows the current route and quote for your destination. A bus journey from NAIA has two parts: the airport route to a hotel district or transport hub, then the walk, MRT trip or local vehicle to your accommodation. UBE Express publishes route-specific ticket rules but no universal airport-to-hotel journey time. Select the destination in the operator’s booking system and allow time for the final connection. MRT-3’s own information describes the line as a 16.9-kilometre route between North Avenue and Taft Avenue and says the complete line takes about 30 minutes. That figure is only the rail ride. Clark’s airport operator gives no single fixed CRK-to-Manila journey time. The result depends on the bus destination, road traffic and your final address. Grab publishes an approximate PHP 300–500 average from Manila city centre to NAIA. The amount changes with destination, vehicle category and booking conditions, so use the live app quote before confirming. GrabCar accepts up to four passengers with two checked pieces of luggage on the airport page; select a larger vehicle when your group or bags require it. NAIA’s operator does not publish one fare from the airport to every Manila district. For coupon, yellow-metered and regular metered taxis, airport personnel issue a dispatch slip. Clark’s airport guide publishes Genesis fares of PHP 450 from Clark Airport to NAIA Terminals 1, 2 and 3, PHP 310 to Trinoma, and PHP 254 for Victory Liner’s Clark–Olongapo route. NAIA’s free inter-terminal shuttle runs every 15 minutes on a continuous loop for passengers transferring between terminals. It is an airport connection, not a bus into Manila. For city buses, NAIA lists UBE Express, Genesis and the Airport Loop Shuttle, but the airport page does not provide one combined interval for all routes. A late NAIA arrival is simplest by accredited taxi or Grab because the airport’s public buses do not share one published all-night timetable. Grab allows airport rides to be booked up to 90 days ahead and offers free cancellation up to 60 minutes before the scheduled pickup under its published booking terms. The NAIA inter-terminal shuttle operates around the clock for connecting-flight passengers, but it does not take arriving travellers into Manila. MRT-3 has Sunday and holiday service. The published timetable gives Taft Avenue’s first train at 5:19 AM and last train at 10:09 PM; North Avenue’s corresponding times are 4:38 AM and 9:30 PM. These are station departures, not airport departures. Reach Taft Avenue early enough to allow the road transfer from NAIA and the walk to the platform. At Clark, the airport lists Grab and Blue Taxi and says taxi passengers should pay the meter rate. The airport does not publish a universal overnight or Sunday guarantee for every bus and taxi provider. At NAIA, only accredited transport providers should collect arriving passengers.
