Choose the train, bus or taxi for your terminal
Perth Airport is the city’s main airport, with two separate passenger precincts: T1/T2 and T3/T4. Check your airline confirmation before travelling because the precincts are separated by a road transfer and are not interchangeable. T1 and T2 use Airport Central Station; T3 and T4 use Redcliffe Station followed by Route 292. (Perth Airport terminals, checked 2026-09-28)
For T1 or T2, take Transperth’s Airport Line to Airport Central and follow the Skybridge signs to the terminals. For T3 or T4, take the Airport Line to Redcliffe, then board Route 292. This circular bus connects Redcliffe Station with the T3/T4 pick-up and drop-off area and is free when used as the airport shuttle. (Perth Airport public transport, checked 2026-09-28; Transperth ticket conditions, checked 2026-09-28)
Route 940 provides another Redcliffe connection from Elizabeth Quay Bus Station via Great Eastern Highway. It does not enter T3 or T4, so continue with Route 292. Route 37 serves Airport Central and Oats Street on weekdays, which can help some addresses east of the CBD. (Transperth Airport Line service changes, checked 2026-09-28; Perth Airport public transport, checked 2026-09-28)
A taxi or rideshare is the direct choice for heavy luggage, children, mobility needs or accommodation away from the rail network. Perth Airport lists Black and White Cabs, Swan Taxis, Uber and DiDi. Taxi ranks and rideshare bays serve every terminal. (Perth Airport taxis and rideshare, checked 2026-09-28)

Published airport-to-city journey times
Perth Airport publishes Airport Central as 18 minutes from Perth Station in the CBD. That is the train leg to T1/T2; add immigration, baggage collection, the terminal walk and any onward journey from the station. Airport Central connects to T1 and T2 through the Skybridge. (Perth Airport public transport, checked 2026-09-28)
Redcliffe Station is published as 15 minutes from Perth Station. Route 292 then takes about three minutes between Redcliffe Station and the T3/T4 terminal area. The complete journey therefore includes the train, the wait for the bus and the walk from the terminal stop to check-in or arrivals. (Transperth visiting Perth, checked 2026-09-28; Perth Airport public transport, checked 2026-09-28)
The Route 292 timetable shows the bus reaching the T3/T4 stop a few minutes after Redcliffe on each circuit. Use the date-specific timetable or JourneyPlanner when a flight connection is tight, because the published three-minute bus figure does not include waiting, luggage or walking time. (Transperth Route 292 timetable, checked 2026-09-28)
For road travel, Perth Airport describes a taxi trip to Perth city centre as roughly 20 minutes. This is an airport-to-city estimate, not a guaranteed hotel arrival time; traffic, roadworks and the final address can add time. The airport does not publish one fixed taxi journey time for every Perth suburb. (Perth Airport taxis, checked 2026-09-28)

Current public-transport fares and airport charges
Transperth’s standard Go Anywhere fare is A$3.50 with a cash ticket, A$3.15 with contactless payment and A$2.80 with a SmartRider receiving the 20% discount. Go Anywhere allows travel anywhere on the Transperth network for up to three hours, including transfers between trains and buses. (Transperth fares, checked 2026-09-28)
A DayRider costs A$7.00 and provides unlimited travel on the day of purchase. SmartRider and contactless users are automatically capped at the DayRider rate when their accumulated travel reaches that amount. A Standard SmartRider normally gives a 10% discount; Autoload can provide the 20% fare. (Transperth fares, checked 2026-09-28; Standard SmartRider, checked 2026-09-28)
Route 292 is free when travelling between T3/T4 and the Airport Line. You do not need to tag on, tag off or buy a second ticket for that shuttle. If you continue from Redcliffe into Perth or elsewhere, the Airport Line journey uses the normal Transperth fare system. (Transperth ticket conditions, checked 2026-09-28)
Perth Airport adds a A$4.50 airport fee to taxi and rideshare pick-ups from the airport. The airport does not publish one fixed taxi fare to every Perth address, and rideshare prices are returned by the selected provider for the destination and booking time. How often trains and buses run
Transperth publishes the Airport Line timetable, live service status and JourneyPlanner rather than one universal train interval for every date. The Airport Line serves Airport Central for T1/T2 and Redcliffe for the T3/T4 connection. Enter the actual origin, destination and travel date before relying on a departure. (Transperth timetables, checked 2026-09-28; Perth Airport public transport, checked 2026-09-28)
Route 292 operates Monday to Sunday. Transperth publishes every 12 minutes during peak periods and every 15 minutes off peak and on weekends. The current timetable gives exact stop times: its Sunday and public-holiday pattern starts at 07:23 from Redcliffe and continues until 23:52 from Redcliffe, reaching the airport at 23:55. Use the timetable for the direction you need. (Transperth Airport Line service changes, checked 2026-09-28; Route 292 timetable, checked 2026-09-28)
Route 940 runs seven days a week between Elizabeth Quay Bus Station and Redcliffe. Its published pattern is every five minutes during peak periods, every ten minutes off peak and every 15 minutes on weekends. The operator publishes a timetable and JourneyPlanner for exact first and last departures rather than one fixed airport-wide rule. (Transperth Airport Line service changes, checked 2026-09-28; Transperth timetables, checked 2026-09-28)
The free terminal-transfer shuttle runs between T1/T2 and T3/T4 every 20 minutes from 06:00 to 22:00 and every 30 minutes from 22:00 to 06:00. Perth Airport publishes the departure table by precinct, so check the terminal direction as well as the broad interval. (Perth Airport terminal transfer, checked 2026-09-28)

Plan late arrivals and Sunday travel
Taxis operate 24 hours a day, seven days a week from ranks outside every Perth Airport terminal. Rideshare also serves every terminal, with dedicated bays within walking distance. Collect your luggage before requesting Uber or DiDi, then follow the app and terminal signs to the assigned bay. (Perth Airport taxis and rideshare, checked 2026-09-28)
For late public-transport arrivals, use Transperth’s date-specific Airport Line timetable, live status and JourneyPlanner. Perth Airport’s public-transport page does not publish one universal first-train or last-train time; Transperth’s timetable result is the current source for the terminal, direction and date you select. (Perth Airport public transport, checked 2026-09-28; Transperth timetables, checked 2026-09-28)
Route 292 has a published Sunday and public-holiday timetable, beginning at 07:23 from Redcliffe and listing the final Redcliffe departure at 23:52. The airport stop follows three minutes later on the published circuit. If your flight reaches the terminal after the final connection, use the 24-hour taxi rank or a rideshare bay. (Route 292 timetable, checked 2026-09-28)
Sunday public transport is free for SmartRider holders and contactless users from first service until last service on all Transperth buses, trains and ferries. The rule does not cover late-night services after midnight on Saturday, and cash passengers must still buy a ticket. Route 292 remains free as the T3/T4 airport shuttle. Taxi, rideshare and terminal transfers
Taxi ranks are outside all Perth Airport terminals, and the airport names Black and White Cabs and Swan Taxis as its taxi providers. Perth Airport warns that some drivers may request payment before the journey begins. Keep the A$4.50 airport pick-up fee in mind when comparing a taxi with public transport. (Perth Airport taxis and rideshare, checked 2026-09-28)
Rideshare pick-up bays serve T1, T2, T3 and T4. Book after collecting luggage, then follow the provider’s directions because each terminal has its own designated collection area. The airport does not publish a universal rideshare fare; Uber and DiDi return the price for the selected route and time. (Perth Airport taxis and rideshare, checked 2026-09-28)
If you arrive at the wrong precinct, the free terminal-transfer bus connects T1/T2 with T3/T4. Perth Airport describes the road journey between precincts as about 15 minutes and publishes shuttle departures every 20 minutes by day and every 30 minutes overnight. Allow extra time for boarding and luggage, especially before a flight. (Perth Airport terminal transfer, checked 2026-09-28; Perth Airport terminals, checked 2026-09-28)
