Salzburg Airport W. A. Mozart (SZG) is the practical airport for Salzburg. The airport operator places it 3.1 km west-southwest of the city centre and 2 km from the Austrian-German border. For the central railway station, take city bus 2. The airport operator describes bus 2 as the daily connection between Salzburg Airport and Salzburg Hauptbahnhof. For the central city, bus 10 runs from the airport towards the city centre from Monday to Saturday. For regional travel, the airport operator lists Postbus 260, buses 180 and 181, and seasonal or route-specific connections such as bus 840 to Berchtesgaden from Salzburg Main Station. These services have their own route tables and do not share the city-bus interval.
