Choose a bus, taxi or Transvip transfer
Santiago’s main passenger airport is Arturo Merino Benítez Airport (SCL/AMB), in Pudahuel, 15 km northwest of Santiago. Domestic flights use Terminal 1; international flights use Terminal 2. There is no rail or metro station at the airport, so every public-transport journey begins by road. The airport operator lists buses, official taxis and authorised transfers as the main options. (DGAC airport information, checked 2026-09-28; Nuevo Pudahuel terminals, checked 2026-09-28)
Centropuerto is the straightforward shared bus for central Santiago. Its published destinations include Intermodal Pajaritos, Terminal Sur and Metro República. Pajaritos connects with Metro Line 1 and the wider intermodal network; República is more central; Terminal Sur is useful for long-distance coaches. Choose the stop closest to your next connection, then complete the final leg by metro, city bus, taxi or on foot. (Centropuerto routes and fares, checked 2026-09-28)
Turbus Airport connects SCL with Terminal Alameda and Terminal Pajaritos. The airport places Turbus at Terminal 2’s first level, near Gate 4, and at the Terminal 1 bus station. It suits travellers continuing by coach or staying near one of the listed terminals. (Turbus Airport at Nuevo Pudahuel, checked 2026-09-28)
RED Movilidad routes 555 and 444 also connect the airport intermodal with Metro Pajaritos (Line 1) and La Cisterna (Line 2), respectively, on the integrated Bip! system. The intermodal lies apart from the terminal; Nuevo Pudahuel provides a free connecting shuttle to the terminals. Check Red Movilidad’s trip planner for the route and transfer point on your date. (Red Movilidad airport routes, checked 2026-09-28; Route 555 and terminal shuttle details, checked 2026-09-28)
For a direct address-to-address trip, book Transvip or use an official airport taxi. Transvip offers shared transfers, exclusive vans and cars. The airport directs arriving passengers to authorised counters and vehicle areas, away from unsolicited offers in the public arrivals hall. Treat published times as airport-to-city legs
Centropuerto does not publish one fixed airport-to-hotel duration. Its route page says departures, routes and journey times can change with traffic and road-safety conditions. Use the date-specific search for your route, then add the walk from the stop and any onward metro, bus or taxi connection. (Centropuerto Pajaritos route, checked 2026-09-28)
The listed destination matters more than an unverified headline duration. Pajaritos is the useful interchange for Metro Line 1 and regional connections; República places you nearer central Santiago; Terminal Sur serves long-distance buses; Terminal Alameda is Turbus’s central coach terminal. None of these bus services promises a door-to-door hotel journey. (Centropuerto routes, checked 2026-09-28; Turbus Airport at Nuevo Pudahuel, checked 2026-09-28)
Turbus publishes its routes and operating windows, but not a guaranteed airport-to-terminal duration on the airport page. Road traffic can extend the trip, especially around commuting periods. If you are connecting to a separately ticketed coach, leave a buffer between the airport bus and the next departure. (Turbus Airport at Nuevo Pudahuel, checked 2026-09-28)
An official taxi or Transvip removes the interchange but still uses Santiago’s roads. The airport’s VOT taxi system calculates an estimate using GPS distance and journey duration; Transvip quotes after you enter the exact origin, destination and vehicle type. Use the complete address when booking. (Nuevo Pudahuel VOT taxi system, checked 2026-09-28; Transvip airport transfer, checked 2026-09-28)

Compare the published fares before boarding
Centropuerto publishes CLP 2,400 for a one-way ticket and CLP 4,100 for a return ticket. The fare applies across the route, and passengers may board or leave at authorised stops. The e-ticket is valid for 90 days from issue; the return portion of a return ticket is also valid for 90 days. (Centropuerto fares, checked 2026-09-28)
Turbus’s current airport-transfer page lists CLP 2,000 for the general public and CLP 900 for staff holding the required credential. Check the selected route and ticket in the operator’s booking flow before departure. (Turbus airport transfers, checked 2026-09-28)
Transvip does not publish one Santiago-wide fare. Its official help page says the price varies by commune, distance to the airport and selected vehicle. Simulate the reservation on the website or app with the exact addresses to see the fare before payment. (Transvip airport transfer fares, checked 2026-09-28)
The airport’s official taxi pages do not publish one fixed fare for every Santiago address. VOT calculates a GPS-based estimate, allows payment before the journey and produces a digital voucher. Pay at an authorised counter and keep the voucher; do not accept a price from an unaccredited person in arrivals. (Nuevo Pudahuel VOT taxi system, checked 2026-09-28; Nuevo Pudahuel official taxi, checked 2026-09-28)

Use the published departure pattern
Centropuerto’s homepage advertises departures every 15 minutes every day. Its Pajaritos route page gives the more specific pattern: every 10–15 minutes from Monday to Friday and every 15–25 minutes on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays. The route page does not publish one universal first departure and last departure, so use the date-specific search when the first or final bus matters. (Centropuerto homepage, checked 2026-09-28; Centropuerto Pajaritos route, checked 2026-09-28)
Turbus currently lists Terminal Alameda departures to SCL from 04:30 to 00:00 every 10–15 minutes, SCL to Terminal Alameda from 05:30 to 00:00, and Pajaritos-to-airport departures from 05:30 to 22:45. Confirm the selected direction and date with the operator. (Turbus airport transfers, checked 2026-09-28)
Transvip’s website and app are available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Shared transfers to the airport must be requested at least four hours before the required presentation time. For a journey from the airport, create and pay for the reservation, then go to the vehicle area for assignment. (Transvip airport transfer reservations, checked 2026-09-28)
Nuevo Pudahuel lists its official basic and tourism taxis as available 24/7. This is the published round-the-clock option when the bus windows have ended. (Nuevo Pudahuel official taxi, checked 2026-09-28)

Sunday buses run; late arrivals need a backup
Sunday service is published for both airport buses. Centropuerto lists daily service and a 15–25-minute Sunday and public-holiday interval on its Pajaritos route. Turbus also operates daily: SCL to Pajaritos runs 05:30–22:45, while SCL to Alameda runs 05:30–00:00. Check the route search rather than assuming that every departure follows the homepage headline. (Centropuerto Pajaritos route, checked 2026-09-28; Turbus Airport at Nuevo Pudahuel, checked 2026-09-28)
For a late-night arrival, compare your landing time with the bus closing windows. If no suitable departure is available, reserve Transvip or use an official taxi. Transvip’s online channels remain available around the clock, and an airport-to-home reservation remains valid for 24 hours from its scheduled time according to the operator’s airport guidance. (Transvip airport transfer, checked 2026-09-28)
The official taxi is the clearest late-night fallback because Nuevo Pudahuel publishes it as a 24/7 service. Buy the ride at the authorised counter before walking to the accredited vehicle area. Follow signs for T1 or T2 according to your arrival terminal. (Nuevo Pudahuel official taxi, checked 2026-09-28)
On Sunday, allow time for the final connection after Pajaritos, República, Terminal Sur or Terminal Alameda. The airport buses publish Sunday intervals, but neither bus operator gives a universal door-to-door promise for every Santiago address. Use authorised counters and vehicle areas
After customs and agriculture inspection, follow the airport’s signs to the transport centre. Nuevo Pudahuel says passengers can choose an official basic taxi, tourism taxi, transfer or bus at designated counters, then continue to the assigned vehicle zone. This is the airport’s recommended process for avoiding unlicensed transport offers. (Nuevo Pudahuel official transport, checked 2026-09-28)
Official taxis use vehicles reserved for the contracting passenger and luggage, with accredited drivers and vehicles. Payment is made inside before boarding, with no extra payment collected in the vehicle. T1 counters serve national arrivals; T2 counters serve international arrivals. (Nuevo Pudahuel official taxi, checked 2026-09-28)
For Transvip, passengers with a paid reservation and QR code go to the vehicle area outside Door 5 at T1 or outside Door 3 at T2. Counters are near Door 3, where you can book or pay if necessary. Keep the QR code available. (Transvip airport locations, checked 2026-09-28)
The airport’s VOT system uses GPS to calculate distance and journey duration, gives a preliminary estimate and issues a digital voucher. It also lets travellers validate vehicle and driver details with a QR code. Complete the transaction inside the authorised system before loading luggage.
