About Henri Cartier-Bresson Foundation

The Fondation Henri Cartier-Bresson is a photography-focused cultural institution in Paris’s Marais district. Founded by Henri Cartier-Bresson and Martine Franck, it preserves their work while deliberately avoiding a permanent exhibition devoted solely to their photographs. Its programme also presents photographers from different generations and artistic practices, with exhibitions changing through the year.

At the time of checking, the programme includes Daido Moriyama – Love Letters to Photography and Nuits Balnéaires – Eboro, both scheduled from May 20 to October 4, 2026. The Daido Moriyama exhibition examines the photographer’s sustained engagement with photography through images, books and writing. Nuits Balnéaires’s project combines fine art, fashion and research, and connects visual chapters with family memory and cultural history.

The foundation is at 79 rue des Archives, 75003 Paris. It is open Tuesday through Sunday from 11:00 to 19:00, with last entry at 18:20, and is closed on Mondays. Exhibition installation periods and listed public holidays can bring exceptional closures, so check the official visitor page before travelling.
