About Saint-Ambroise

Saint-Ambroise is the Roman Catholic parish church at 71 bis boulevard Voltaire in Paris’s 11th arrondissement. Théodore Ballu built the present church between 1863 and 1869 in a Romanesque Revival design with Gothic elements. Its boulevard façade is marked by two 68-metre towers. The parish identifies paintings by Jules-Eugène Lenepveu, stained glass by the Le Chevallier workshops and sculptures including works by Eugène-Antoine Oudiné, Louis Noël and Gérard Vincent.

The parish publishes church-opening times separately from Masses, confessions, concerts and parish-office service. In its normal schedule, the church is open Monday 09:00–19:30 and Tuesday–Sunday 08:00–19:30. During school holidays, it gives 09:00–19:30 daily. The parish warns that holiday and public-holiday arrangements can change, so verify the latest parish notice before a special trip. Service times and concert programmes are not a general sightseeing timetable.

For orientation, use the church address on boulevard Voltaire; the parish office is separately located at 33 avenue Parmentier. The parish lists metro Line 9 at Saint-Ambroise, Line 5 at Richard-Lenoir and Line 3 at Rue Saint-Maur. It reports a hearing loop in the left transept for worshippers using compatible devices, but does not publish a general step-free visitor route. No admission charge is recorded here.
