About Akmerkez

Akmerkez is a shopping centre in Istanbul’s Etiler quarter, within Beşiktaş district. The complex opened on 18 December 1993 as a joint project by Akkök, Tekfen and İstikbal. Its architect was Fatin Uran. The development combines a four-storey shopping area with office and residential towers, making it a mixed-use site rather than a standalone retail block. The official directory lists shops and services across categories including fashion, accessories and jewellery, home and living, technology, sport, health and cosmetics, cafés, restaurants, fast food, entertainment, books and toys. Visitors can therefore use Akmerkez for retail shopping, dining, personal services and leisure in one location. The centre is on Nispetiye Avenue in Etiler, with a bus stop in front of the building and Nispetiye Metro station within walking distance. Its position in Istanbul’s European side makes it a practical stop for visitors exploring Etiler and the wider Beşiktaş area.
