Da Nang Airport: Taxi, Bus and Hoi An Transfers

Da Nang International Airport (DAD) is the city’s main airport and the practical arrival point for Da Nang. Vietnam Airlines places it approximately 3 kilometres southwest of central Da Nang, with two passenger terminals: T1 for domestic flights and T2 for international flights. No second airport serves ordinary Da Nang arrivals on the current airport transport information. For central Da Nang, the official airport guide lists metered taxis, Danabus Route 12 and Danabus Route 06. Route 12 runs between Xuân Diệu and Phạm Hùng Bus Station through central streets and the airport. Route 06 links the airport with Nguyễn Văn Linh, Dragon Bridge, Võ Văn Kiệt, Võ Nguyên Giáp, Trường Sa, the FPT urban area and Việt–Hàn University. Travellers continuing to Hoi An have Hai Van’s airport limousine bus. Hai Van publishes the route from Da Nang Airport through Duy Tân, Nguyễn Văn Thoại, Võ Nguyên Giáp and Trường Sa to Cửa Đại in Hoi An. Its airport page also lists intermediate resort and Hoi An pickup points, while the airport guide identifies Cửa Đại Parking Lot as the Hoi An endpoint. The airport-to-centre road leg is short: Vietnam Airlines gives approximately 10–15 minutes by car for the roughly 3-kilometre journey, depending on traffic. That is a city-centre reference, not a guaranteed hotel arrival time. My Khe Beach, Sơn Trà, the southern beach resorts and addresses beyond the centre require additional road time, and the airport source does not publish one fixed taxi duration for every neighbourhood. Danabus publishes routes, stop sequences and operating information rather than a guaranteed airport-to-hotel duration. Route 06 has an official average route length of 21.3 kilometres and passes the airport, Dragon Bridge, the beach corridor and the university terminus. Route 12 crosses the airport and continues between Xuân Diệu and Phạm Hùng. Count the intermediate stops, the wait for the next vehicle and the walk from the final stop; the operator does not publish a fixed door-to-door time for either route. Hai Van publishes the Hoi An route and its stops, but the service page does not publish a fixed airport-to-Cửa Đại journey duration. Treat the limousine as a scheduled route with intermediate pickup and drop-off points, not as a guaranteed private-transfer time. For a hotel outside the listed route, add the final taxi or local transfer yourself and check the booking system for the travel date. Route 12 has a published one-way fare of 8,000 VND. Danangbus also lists monthly products, but those are intended for regular passengers rather than a one-off airport arrival. Route 06 uses distance-based fares. The published price is 15,000 VND for journeys up to half of the 21.3-kilometre route, and 22,000 VND for journeys beyond half the route through the terminus. Students pay 8,000 VND. The operator also publishes free travel for children under six and specified eligible groups; that exemption is not a general free-travel rule for every passenger. Hai Van publishes 120,000 VND per passenger for Da Nang Airport–Hoi An. Its own fare table adds a 30,000 VND urban transfer charge for transfers under 3 kilometres, plus 10,000 VND per additional kilometre where that transfer service applies. The airport does not publish one universal taxi fare from DAD to all Da Nang hotels. Its current arrival guide says taxis are metered, gives example meter figures by vehicle size and distance, and warns that a 10,000–30,000 VND airport access fee may apply. Route 12 operates daily from 05:30 to 19:00. Danangbus publishes departures about every 10 minutes during peak periods and every 30 minutes outside those periods. The airport guide gives a broader expected bus wait of 5–30 minutes. These are service patterns, not a promise that the next vehicle will arrive at a particular minute, so check the operator’s current route information before walking to the stop. Route 06 uses Phương Trang Futabuslines electric buses. Danangbus’s January 2026 notice gives 48 trips daily and intervals of 30–60 minutes, but its terminal-specific operating window conflicts with the airport’s general Route 06 listing. Check the current airport-direction departure for your travel date instead of treating either window as a guaranteed first or last bus. Allow time to walk from baggage claim to the stop. Hai Van publishes the airport–Hoi An route, booking channel and fare, but its service page does not publish a repeating interval or a complete first-and-last-departure timetable. The airport guide gives the current daily operating window as 07:30–16:00 and estimates a 5–30-minute wait for buses at the airport. Check live availability in Hai Van’s booking system before relying on a particular flight connection. Da Nang International Airport states that authorised metered taxis operate 24 hours a day outside the Arrivals Halls of both T1 and T2. Follow the official signs to the taxi pickup area, use a branded vehicle and do not accept rides from unauthorised individuals inside the terminal. The published public-transport windows end earlier than the airport’s 24-hour taxi service. Route 12 ends at 19:00 and the airport lists Hai Van’s Hoi An service until 16:00; the Route 06 pages disagree on its service window. None publishes a late-night airport-bus departure.
