Tel Aviv Airport Transfers: Train, Bus or Taxi

Ben Gurion Airport, Israel’s main airport, is around 15 km from Tel Aviv. Terminal 1 reopened for domestic flights on 28 June 2026 and international departures on 1 July; international arrivals remain at Terminal 3, and some airlines use both. The airport train station is at Terminal 3. Choose among HaHagana (south), HaShalom (central), Savidor Center (central interchange) and University (north) by your accommodation address, then check the live rail planner. Kavim provides Bus 445 route and timetable tools; IAA confirms Terminal 3, Level 2, Exit 21. Neither gives a guaranteed hotel arrival time because traffic and the destination stop affect the road leg. Gett publishes no fixed time either: enter the address and allow for traffic, luggage and the airport queue. Airport taxis are metered. Gett says the driver must start the meter at the ride’s beginning; neither it nor IAA publishes a fixed Tel Aviv fare. Israel Railways notes night trains on routes passing through Ben Gurion, but engineering works and operational changes may interrupt service. Israel Railways’ September notice says Friday trains stop at about 15:00–16:00 and resume Saturday at about 21:00; exact times vary by date and season. Search both public routes for your flight date. There is no universal all-night public-transport guarantee. If no suitable service appears, IAA lists licensed taxis 24 hours, paid by meter. The airport train offers four different Tel Aviv arrival points, so keep planning to your accommodation address after choosing a train. The city’s airport guide places HaHagana in southern Tel Aviv, HaShalom in central Tel Aviv, Savidor Center in central Tel Aviv, and University in northern Tel Aviv. Its city transport guide recommends Merkaz (Arlozorov) or HaShalom for central access and says HaHagana is near the New Central Bus Station. Compare the station and its final local connection with the hotel street before buying a rail ticket. Savidor Center has a specific light-rail connection. NTA’s current Dankal Red Line station information says Arlosoroff’s accessible Exit A leads to Israel Railways’ Tel Aviv Savidor Center and Terminal 2000. If your hotel is near the rail terminal or this interchange, follow signs for the Red Line there; do not confuse Terminal 2000 beside Savidor with the airport or Tel Aviv’s New Central Bus Station. For the HaShalom and Azrieli area, NTA lists the Red Line’s Sha’ul HaMelekh stop near Israel Railways HaShalom, Azrieli Center, the Government Campus and Ichilov Hospital. This gives central-city visitors another address-specific rail stop to consider after the airport train. The current Red Line continues through central Tel Aviv at Sha’ul HaMelekh, Yehudit, Carlebach and Allenby, then toward Elifelet and Jaffa. Use those station names as a second-stage option when a hotel address lies by the corridor; they are light-rail destinations, not railway stations served by the airport train. For HaHagana, HaShalom or University addresses outside the Red Line stop itself, use the city’s current transport map or journey planner to check the last walk or bus leg.
