Parc de Belleville is a public park in Paris’s 20th arrondissement, built on the hillside of Belleville and inaugurated in 1988. Covering about 4.5 hectares, it is arranged as a sequence of planted terraces that climb toward the belvedere. The upper terrace offers a wide view across Paris, including the Eiffel Tower and Sacré-Cœur on clear days. The park contains nearly 1,200 trees and shrubs, flowerbeds, lawns and climbing plants. A cascade more than 100 metres long descends the slope, adding a strong visual feature to the garden. The site also preserves Belleville’s viticultural history: vines grow in the park, recalling the hill’s former vineyards and the local tradition associated with guinguettes. The Willy Ronis belvedere, renamed in 2015 for the photographer who documented popular Paris, is the park’s principal viewpoint. Access is available from rue des Couronnes, rue Piat, rue Julien-Lacroix and rue Jouye-Rouve. The municipal park includes a children’s play area, table-tennis tables, drinking-water points and toilets.
