The waterfront, gardens and central streets form a walkable core beneath the gondola, while Frankton sits by the airport at the lake's eastern arm. Arrowtown, Glenorchy, ski fields and activity launch points each pull visitors onto separate roads or services. A useful itinerary therefore pairs central sights with one outward journey instead of treating the whole region as adjacent.
