Holy Trinity Church, also known as the Russian Church, is a Russian Orthodox church in Belgrade’s Tašmajdan Park. It stands beside the larger Church of Saint Mark, near the northern edge of the park. The church was built in 1924 for Russian émigrés who settled in Serbia after the Russian Civil War. Russian architect Valery Stashevsky designed the building in a Pskov-Novgorod style. Its interior includes an iconostasis carved by Prince Mikhail Putyatin and wall paintings associated with Baron Nikolai Meyendorff. The church was consecrated in January 1925 and became a representation of the Moscow Patriarchate after the Second World War. It was damaged during the 1999 NATO bombing of Belgrade and later restored. The church is also associated with the Russian émigré community, the Russian Orthodox presence in Serbia, and the memory of General Pyotr Wrangel, who was reburied there in 1929. Its address is 4 Takovska Street, making it an easy stop alongside Saint Mark’s Church and Tašmajdan Park.
