Mimar Sinan Mosque is a contemporary mosque in Ataşehir, on Istanbul’s Asian side. It opened for worship in July 2012 and is located in the Barbaros area, close to Mimar Sinan Park. The mosque was commissioned as a major congregational mosque for the rapidly developing Ataşehir district.

The building was designed by architect Muharrem Hilmi Şenalp. Its architectural language draws on Ottoman mosque traditions and takes inspiration from the work of the Ottoman architect Mimar Sinan, while using modern construction. The interior emphasizes calligraphy and restrained ornament. A notable feature is the large dome inscription, reported as unusually large in both diameter and lettering scale.

The complex includes prayer areas and supporting facilities, including a lower-level commercial area and spaces used for religious and educational activities. Visitors should remember that this remains an active place of worship: modest clothing, quiet behaviour and respect for people praying are appropriate. The mosque is a useful stop for travellers exploring Ataşehir’s modern urban landscape and contemporary religious architecture.
