Florence Airport Transfers: T2, Taxi or Pisa

Amerigo Vespucci Airport, also called Peretola and coded FLR, is Florence’s main airport. Toscana Aeroporti places it 4 km from Florence city centre. T2 is the simplest public-transport choice for central Florence. It runs from Peretola Aeroporto through Novoli and Firenze Santa Maria Novella towards San Marco Università. A taxi takes you directly from the terminal to the address. Choose it for heavy luggage, several passengers, accommodation away from the tram route or an arrival after the last T2 departure. Pisa Airport (PSA) is the other passenger airport in the Toscana Aeroporti network. Treat the mover and onward train as separate legs, even when sold together, and compare the complete connection with FLR’s direct T2 tram before choosing a flight. For a taxi, Florence Airport publishes about 15 minutes from FLR to Florence city centre. Traffic, the exact address and baggage collection affect the complete journey. Trenitalia’s current table lists direct fast regional departures from Pisa Airport at 09:03, 11:03, 13:03, 15:03, 17:03 and 19:03, arriving at Firenze SMN in about 57 minutes. The PisaMover route is separate. Trenitalia describes the airport-to-Pisa Centrale train as 5 minutes on its English page and describes the train-plus-shuttle connection as taking less than 3 minutes on its Italian information page. Autolinee Toscane publishes a €2.00 Florence urban ticket from the tariff introduced on 1 August 2026. The ticket is valid for 90 minutes after validation or activation and covers Florence’s urban tram and bus network, including T2. Buy it in the at bus app, from a tram-stop machine, through an authorised retailer or with contactless payment on board. Validate or activate it before travelling. From Monday through Thursday, the line runs every 10 minutes from 05:00 to 06:30, every 4–5 minutes from 06:30 to 20:30, every 10 minutes from 20:30 to 23:30 and every 22 minutes from 23:30 to 00:30. Friday extends service to 02:00 with intervals of 18–22 minutes after 00:30; Saturday uses 11-minute early service, 5–6 minutes in daytime and 18–22 minutes after 00:30. For a late FLR arrival, compare the landing time with the published T2 airport departure. The final scheduled airport-to-city run is 23:58 from Sunday through Thursday and 01:15 on Friday and Saturday.
