About Ching Chung Koon

Ching Chung Koon is a Taoist monastery in Kei Lun Wai, Tuen Mun, beside Tuen Mun Hospital in Hong Kong. It was first established on Wai Ching Street in Kowloon in 1950 and moved to its permanent Tuen Mun site in 1960, when Shun Yeung Din was completed. The complex includes halls used for Taoist worship and religious ceremonies, including Shun Yeung Din, Ching Wah Tong and Yik Fa Kung. Its grounds contain a Chinese-style landscaped garden with ponds, pavilions, mature trees and distinctive rocks. The monastery also presents bonsai exhibitions and provides Taoist cultural courses for the public. Shun Yeung Din and Yik Fa Kung were assessed as Grade II historic buildings in 2009. The site is part of the Ching Chung Taoist tradition’s wider religious, educational, medical and elderly-care work. The head temple is at 28 Tsing Chung Koon Road, Tuen Mun, New Territories.
