The Statue of Anita Mui stands on Hong Kong’s Avenue of Stars, the Tsim Sha Tsui waterfront promenade beside Victoria Harbour. The bronze figure honours Anita Mui Yim-fong (1963–2003), a Hong Kong-born singer, actress and major figure in Cantopop and Hong Kong cinema. The Avenue of Stars presents Mui alongside other Hong Kong film legends, including Bruce Lee, as part of its public celebration of the city’s screen culture. The statue’s base incorporates stylised flowing water, a design reference to Mui’s song “Homecoming”. An inscription reading “the Daughter of Hong Kong” uses calligraphy by Andy Lau, Mui’s friend and fellow performer. The promenade also provides biography material and film clips through QR codes near the celebrity handprints, while the statue can be viewed as part of the open-air harbourfront walk. Avenue of Stars visitor information identifies restrooms and barrier-free toilets near the restaurant and café area by the Anita Mui statue.
