Mundolingua is a Paris museum devoted to languages, language and linguistics. Its permanent exhibition covers nearly 170 square metres and is arranged through themed alcoves that invite visitors to explore the subject at different levels of detail. Displays include tactile screens, games, unusual objects, a sound head, language trees, syntax cubes and bricks, field-linguist instruments, a facsimile of the Rosetta Stone and an Enigma encryption machine. Visitors can follow the exhibition independently, with loan headphones for videos and audio recordings, or choose a guided visit. The museum presents its material for both beginners and more experienced visitors, and its programme can also include conferences, debates, workshops and other language-related events. Mundolingua is on rue Servandoni in Paris’s 6th arrondissement, close to Saint-Sulpice and the Jardin du Luxembourg. The official English site lists regular opening from Saturday through Wednesday, 10:00–19:00, with Thursday and Friday visits available by appointment.
