Central Cemetery in Belgrade is the municipal burial ground at Zaplanjska 47a in Voždovac, between Zaplanjska and Ignjata Joba streets. JKP Pogrebne usluge, Belgrade’s public funeral-services company, identifies it as Centralno groblje and dates its foundation to 1939. It is not Novo groblje, the older cemetery on Ruzveltova, or Novo Bežanijsko groblje across the Sava.

The cemetery’s distinctive memorial context is the Church of the Nativity of St John the Baptist. The operator states that its iconostasis was made in the Buchenwald concentration camp by Serbian prisoners and architect Grigorije Samojlov. This makes the church and its wartime object the principal documented heritage focus, but the cemetery remains an active place of burial rather than a conventional sightseeing attraction. Visitor grounds have seasonal hours. From 1 April through 30 September, the cemetery is open to visitors from 07:00 to 19:00; from 1 October through 31 March, visitor access is 07:00–18:00. The Central Cemetery office works Monday to Saturday from 07:00 to 15:00, while the operator’s 24-hour duty centre is specifically for reporting deaths. Neither schedule should be substituted for the other.
