About Gallery of Science and Technology SANU

The Gallery of Science and Technology SANU is a Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts venue in Belgrade’s Đure Jakšića Street. SANU has housed the gallery since 1997; the space was initially used for programs organised by the Museum of Science and Technology. Since 2006, the gallery has organised most of its activities independently. Its purpose is to present and popularise scientific and technological achievements and heritage, with particular attention to the development of natural and social sciences and technology in Serbia. The programme includes exhibitions as well as lectures, panel discussions, book promotions, children’s educational workshops and science-film screenings. The exhibition area covers 100 square metres, and an appointed Professional Council approves the annual programme. The gallery’s official page lists Academician Zoran Lj. Petrović as director and Bojana Božić and Jasmina Kovačević as curators. The gallery is at Đure Jakšića 2, near the central SANU complex, and provides a compact setting for changing exhibitions connecting Serbian scientific history, technology and public education.
