Hôtel de Marigny is a state hôtel particulier at 23 avenue de Marigny in Paris’s 8th arrondissement, beside the Élysée Palace. The Élysée records that Baron Gustave de Rothschild joined two adjoining properties in 1869 and transformed them into a single neo-18th-century residence. The French state bought the building from the Rothschild family in 1971. It subsequently accommodated foreign heads of state invited by France, taking over a role previously held by the Grand Trianon.

This is not a public museum or a general visitor attraction. The current Élysée description identifies it as the former residence for visiting heads of state and says it now contains offices for the Presidency’s parliamentary department. A 2025 Élysée report also states that the vehicle workshop and garage beneath the building are accessible only to authorised people. The official pages do not publish public visiting hours, a general interior-tour policy, admission terms or a site-wide accessibility route.

For an independent visit, treat Hôtel de Marigny as a presidential streetscape and exterior-viewing stop from the public avenue rather than a place to enter. Heritage-open-day dates or other exceptional events must be confirmed from the relevant current official announcement; they do not create recurring opening hours.
