About Legacy Gallery of Petar Dobrović

Legacy Gallery of Petar Dobrović is a memorial gallery in central Belgrade, housed in the former studio and residence of painter Petar Dobrović at Kralja Petra 36. The gallery was founded in 1974 by the City of Belgrade after Olga Dobrović, the artist’s wife, and their son Đorđe donated the family’s collection. The site preserves the main part of Dobrović’s artistic legacy and presents his importance in Serbian modernism. The collection includes paintings and other material connected with the artist’s life and work; the Belgrade Tourist Organization describes 125 artworks, including oils, poster paints, watercolours, pastels and drawings, together with documents. The gallery is on the fourth floor of the building. Public programming includes exhibitions, guided visits and educational activities. A 2025 City of Belgrade notice listed visitor hours from Tuesday to Saturday, 11:00–18:00, with educational guided visits at 13:00 and 15:00. The gallery’s intimate setting links the displayed works with the place where Dobrović lived and worked, making the address relevant to understanding the legacy rather than simply locating an art venue.
