About Park Luka Ćelović

Park Luka Ćelović is a public park in Belgrade’s Savamala neighbourhood, within the municipality of Savski Venac. It was formerly known as the Park by the Faculty of Economics; Belgrade’s city administration officially changed the name in 2004 to honour Luka Ćelović Trebinjac, a merchant, benefactor and important figure in the development of Savamala. The park is bordered by Gavrila Principa Street, Lička Street and Karađorđeva Street, with the University of Belgrade Faculty of Economics forming its northern edge. The Belgrade Bus Station and main railway station stand across Karađorđeva Street, while Bristol Park is on the opposite side of the street to the west. The rectangular park covers 6,669 square metres, including 4,679 square metres of green areas. Paths converge on a central paved space with a drinking fountain. The park was renovated in 1998 and 2006, then comprehensively reconstructed between May and December 2012. It works as a small green pause while exploring Savamala’s transport hub, historic streets and nearby riverfront.
