Keep Emirati cuisine and restaurant menus distinct

Dubai’s dining scene includes Emirati food and restaurants serving cuisines from many other places. The Dubai tourism authority describes Emirati cooking as shaped by land, sea and trade, with rice, seafood, meat, bread, dates and coffee among its recurring ingredients. Its food guide describes luqaimat as small fried dough balls coated in syrup and regag as a thin flatbread. These are useful cultural names to recognise. None of the four selected restaurants below has a readable current menu confirming either dish, so this guide does not present them as an order at those venues.
The checked restaurant choices instead offer an international cross-section. San Carlo-style sharing is not involved here; Goose & Gander describes a London-style pub setting in Dubai Internet City. Fujiya’s Millennium Airport Hotel branch presents Japanese izakaya dining. Haji Sahab’s Discovery Gardens branch identifies Indian and Pakistani cooking. Massimo’s at Park Island offers Italian handmade pasta and pizza. Decide which of those formats suits your meal, then ask the exact branch about current individual dishes.
Massimo’s operator gives the clearest food-production description in this selection. It says its Marina restaurant rolls pasta and proves pizza dough in-house. Those categories are real, but the detailed menu item list was not read here, so there is no named pizza or pasta promised. Haji Sahab describes chicken, lamb, vegetarian food and tandoori breads without a readable exact dish list for this branch. At Fujiya and Goose & Gander, the specific plates were also not reliably available from the pages checked. Broad food categories can guide a choice, while a current branch menu must settle the order.

The four venues occupy different parts of Dubai. Choose the restaurant that fits the area you are already visiting before you choose a cuisine. A meal in Dubai Internet City, Al Garhoud, Discovery Gardens or Dubai Marina is not a single compact food walk. Put the exact destination into the day’s route and agree on a return journey, especially if the group is meeting from different parts of the city.
Goose & Gander is at the Holiday Inn Express in Dubai Internet City. The operator describes a pub-style social setting suitable for a meal and drinks. Use the venue name as well as the hotel when sharing a meeting point. Fujiya’s selected branch is at Millennium Airport Hotel on Casablanca Street in Al Garhoud. The operator lists that hotel branch separately from Downtown Dubai. A search for Fujiya alone could send a diner to the wrong restaurant.
Haji Sahab’s selected branch is in Discovery Gardens, at Shops G05 and G06 on Street 1B in Building 14, near Sunrise Supermarket. The operator distinguishes it from Al Badaa. Specify Discovery Gardens for the meal or pickup and do not transfer another branch’s address. Massimo’s is the Park Island restaurant in Dubai Marina. Its operator has a separate City Walk page; the Marina map pin matches the selected venue, while the old City Walk association belonged to a different location. Use Park Island when arranging the visit.
If the day changes, reconsider the restaurant district rather than forcing a cross-city trip solely to use a familiar name. A hotel-area meal near the airport and a Marina waterfront restaurant solve different travel needs. Choose the place you can actually reach for the sitting you want.

Four restaurant formats with checked branches
Goose & Gander
PubFujiya Restaurant
RestaurantHaji Sahab Restaurant
RestaurantMassimo's Italian Restaurant
RestaurantGoose & Gander is the London-style pub at Holiday Inn Express in Dubai Internet City. Its operator describes a bar, seating and a social setting for food and group gatherings. Choose it for that pub format rather than calling it an Emirati restaurant. The linked menus were presented as images and did not provide a readable current named-dish shortlist here. Ask the venue what food is available for your intended sitting and discuss portion sizes if people expect to share.
Fujiya’s Millennium Airport Hotel restaurant is on Casablanca Street in Al Garhoud. The operator calls it a Japanese izakaya and identifies it separately from a Downtown Dubai restaurant. Use the Millennium branch page for a reservation. The branch’s individual current dishes were not readable in this check, so ask about the menu rather than copying a dish from another Fujiya location or a review.
Haji Sahab’s Discovery Gardens restaurant occupies Shops G05 and G06 on Street 1B in Building 14. The operator lists an Al Badaa branch separately and describes Indian and Pakistani cooking. It mentions chicken, lamb, vegetarian food and tandoori breads as categories. Ask about the actual current preparation before ordering a particular dish, especially when an ingredient or a spice level matters.
Massimo’s is the Italian restaurant at Park Island in Dubai Marina. The operator separately names its City Walk and other UAE locations, and its Marina map points to the selected record. It describes handmade pasta, pizza and a restaurant reservation route. Ask the Marina kitchen for its current menu and portion choices. A general company page should not replace this exact branch page when planning the meal.

There is no single Dubai ordering rule across these four venues. A pub meal, Japanese izakaya dining, Indian and Pakistani restaurant food and Italian pasta or pizza each suggest different ways a group might order. Start by checking the current menu at the exact branch. Decide whether people want separate plates, several dishes to compare, or a smaller food-and-drink stop. Ask about portions before adding extra dishes; a category label is not a quantity.
At Goose & Gander, describe whether the visit is for a meal or a longer social gathering with drinks. The operator’s food and beverage menus are separate, so obtain the food selection for the intended sitting. At Fujiya, ask what its Millennium Airport Hotel izakaya format offers on the current menu. If some people hope to share small dishes while others want individual meals, clarify how the restaurant serves those orders. Do not rely on a Downtown branch menu for that decision.
At Haji Sahab, name Discovery Gardens when asking about the current Indian and Pakistani choices. The menu categories include tandoori breads and different protein or vegetarian directions, but a chosen dish needs its own description. Discuss whether breads are accompanying shared food or an individual meal. At Massimo’s, compare pasta and pizza on the current Park Island menu, then ask whether the table intends to share a pizza or order separately.
For all four, a reservation or pickup enquiry should name the branch. A chain’s generic online presence does not settle the menu, service format or exact address for the location you selected. Keep those practical details clear before placing an order.

Ask about the specific preparation
A cuisine name does not certify an individual dish or an entire kitchen. If a diner needs to avoid an ingredient, describe the need to the chosen restaurant and ask about the complete preparation, including sauces, accompaniments and shared cooking equipment when relevant. None of the checked venue pages supplies an allergy policy or halal or kosher certification that this guide can responsibly claim. Obtain direct evidence from the restaurant if certification is essential to the choice.
Goose & Gander’s food menu was not readable as text in this check. Do not infer that a pub menu contains a vegetarian or allergy-safe plate from the format alone. Ask the Dubai Internet City venue about the available food. Fujiya’s Japanese izakaya description likewise does not establish the ingredients of a particular dish at Millennium Airport Hotel. Ask the selected branch for its current menu and describe the restriction before ordering.
Haji Sahab uses the word vegetarian among its broader categories, which can help you start a conversation. It does not establish the ingredients or preparation of every vegetarian-sounding dish. Request the current Discovery Gardens menu and ask how the desired item is made. Massimo’s pasta and pizza can involve dairy, meat or other ingredients beyond the dish’s short name. Discuss the complete order with the Marina restaurant rather than classifying a plate from the category alone.
Visit Dubai’s descriptions of Emirati luqaimat and regag are cultural context, not menu or dietary evidence for any of these four international venues. A cultural dish can vary by preparation, and a restaurant would need to confirm its own version. Keep that distinction clear when comparing food traditions with a meal that is actually available today.

Avoid a wrong branch or borrowed food tradition
- Do not substitute Massimo’s City Walk address for its Park Island Dubai Marina branch.

Skip the idea that a Dubai guide must label every restaurant meal Emirati. Visit Dubai describes genuine Emirati dishes and traditions, while this shortlist contains British-style pub dining, Japanese, Indian and Pakistani, and Italian restaurant formats. Those international choices are part of Dubai’s food scene without becoming examples of local Emirati cooking. If luqaimat, regag or another Emirati dish is your purpose, find a current operator menu that explicitly names it rather than assuming one of these restaurants serves it.
Do not substitute a brand location. Fujiya at Millennium Airport Hotel differs from Downtown Dubai. Haji Sahab Discovery Gardens differs from Al Badaa. Massimo’s Park Island venue differs from City Walk; the selected map pin is in Dubai Marina. Goose & Gander should be identified with Holiday Inn Express in Dubai Internet City. Send the full venue name and location to anyone joining so a shared brand or hotel name does not become a mistaken meeting point.
Avoid promising unread individual dishes. Goose & Gander’s menus were images, while Fujiya and Haji Sahab did not yield a reliable named-dish shortlist for the selected branches. Massimo’s operator confirms pasta and pizza but its detailed food-menu items were not read here. Ask what is on the relevant current menu and how much food a portion includes. An old photograph, another branch’s dish or a company-wide category does not answer those questions.
Finally, do not turn location into a rank or a guaranteed experience. A Marina restaurant, an airport-hotel izakaya and a neighbourhood restaurant serve different day plans. Choose a district, a dining format and a real menu that fit the group. This approach is more useful than attempting all four venues in one route or inventing a promised dish, price, opening time or certification.
