Los Angeles is a network of distant districts rather than one continuous centre. Downtown, Hollywood, the Westside, the beach cities and the Valley each form separate visitor zones, and crossing between them can dominate a day. Metro rail and buses connect many major corridors, but route planning must include the final local connection. Choose one geographic cluster per day and avoid repeated east-west travel.

Use Metro rail and frequent bus corridors where they match the day’s geography, then fill the last connection by local bus, walking or another transport option. Rail is useful for Downtown, Hollywood, Universal, Santa Monica and selected southern corridors, but it does not make every attraction adjacent to a station. Driving adds parking and traffic uncertainty. Plan the route before the day begins and keep each itinerary inside one side of the basin.
