Ein Lavan is the principal spring on the northern bank of Rephaim Stream in Jerusalem’s Rephaim Stream National Park. Israel Nature and Parks Authority restored two ancient irrigation pools, agricultural terraces and orchard planting around the spring. The wider valley landscape preserves springs, woodland and terraced agriculture associated with Jerusalem’s traditional settlement and farming heritage.

The national park is open during daylight, from sunrise to sunset, and staying after dark is prohibited. General admission is free. From Jerusalem Biblical Zoo railway station, walk about one kilometre each way to Ein Lavan; the authority gives an approximate walking time of 20 minutes. Access to the northern part of the park also begins from the Biblical Zoo car park. The spring visit is described as suitable for families, while the northern-bank cycle trail is intended for experienced riders.

A current maintenance notice changes pool access on 6–7 September 2026. On Sunday 6 September, the large pool is being emptied and is closed to bathing while the small pool remains open. On Monday 7 September, the small pool is being emptied and closed while the large pool remains open. Check the INPA alerts again after those dates. The cited official pages do not certify the spring water as drinking water or provide a current bathing-water laboratory result. An active heat alert also warns of dehydration, heatstroke and fire danger and prohibits lighting fires. Do not light fires or remain in the park after dark.
