About Rakurakuso

Rakurakuso is the Kameoka branch of Ganko, a Japanese restaurant operating in a historic mansion in Kameoka, Kyoto. The building was created in 1898 when Gentaro Tanaka, founder of the Kyoto Railway Company, remodelled his former residence. Its garden was designed by Jihei Ogawa VII, and the property is recognized as a designated scenic place by Kyoto Prefecture. The restaurant serves Japanese cuisine, including Kyoto-style dishes and local Kameoka specialties. Publicly listed examples include a hon-maguro nigiri set, a tempura-topped Yaragi bento, and a sukiyaki set meal. Rakurakuso is at 44 Kitamachi, about a seven-minute walk from JR Kameoka Station. The operator lists weekday lunch and dinner services, while weekends and public holidays run continuously from late morning to evening; the afternoon period is café-only.
